Rosary Tattoos

I just recently discovered this site. People who are devoted to their rosary can have it tattooed on them. I had no idea such a thing existed! I would prefer my beads to be separate to my person, but each to their own.

Pearls & Cloisonne Rosary

I was commissioned to make this little rosary for a grandmother's birthday. What a lovely, thoughtful gift they are giving her!
She loves pearls, the colour blue, and flowers. So I hope this one will be perfect for her - I think it is so pretty :)

Twitter

Well I keep hearing about it, so I figured I might see what all the fuss was about. I've created a Twitter Page. It seems interesting, and I can see how in exploring it, you can lose huge chunks of time! Luckily I am too busy for that, but it looks like its going to be a fun way of making new friends. My new Twitter Page address is http://twitter.com/rosaryposies if anyone wants to come and say hi :)

A wedding gift

I was commissioned to create a very special wedding gift for a bride and groom. It was such an honour to create these two rosaries for a young couple just starting out on their life together. I created both using pearls, to symbolise the purity of their hearts upon entering into this union, and then added pink glass beads to hers and blue glass to his. Each received their own in a little silver pouch.

The Rosary

Rosary made from pink glass beads with pale pink crystal focal beads

The purpose of the Rosary is to pray, to help us to remember certain principal events, or 'mysteries', in the Bible, and to thank and praise our Lord for them.

There are twenty mysteries reflected upon in the Rosary, and these are divided into the five Joyful Mysteries, the five Luminous Mysteries, the five Sorrowful Mysteries, and the five Glorious Mysteries.

They are said in the order decreed by our previous Pope, John Paul II:
  • the Joyful mysteries are said on Monday and Saturday,
  • the Luminous on Thursday,
  • the Sorrowful on Tuesday and Friday,
  • and the Glorious on Wednesday and Sunday
  • with these exceptions to the rule: Sundays of Christmas season - The Joyful; Sundays of Lent - Sorrowful
